When I work with clients to make something special, we establish the basic details like the stone and metal type first. I prefer to wrap stones that are shaped for jewelry, also known as cabochons(kah-boh-shons). I have a wide selection of gems you can choose from. Give me any description of what you might like and I can hand pick a selection for you.

There may be a bit of back and forth during the design of the piece. I will often request a picture example of what you are thinking, or of a design of mine that you want. Pictures are worth a thousand words! I can certainly blend elements from two or more designs together. You may use my own designs or your own reference images to communicate with me.

At some point, we may reach the limits of my capabilities through wire wrapping and I will offer my advice to keep us within bounds. Rarely do I need to refer clients entirely to another artist but sometimes soldering or heat related practices are needed which I do not offer.

Using precious metals will influence the final price, so I usually wait until I can weigh the piece to determine how much was used, but an estimate can usually be given in advance.

If we are using base metals I can give a good estimate, of which, time is usually the only variable to change the price.

Once we have the details finished, and the project approved by both of us, I require a deposit of at least $40 to put the project on my docket. This is non refundable, but it is put toward the final price. The deposit is in place so that we have a mutual commitment to getting started.
