Sterling Silver Fox Labradorite Pendant - Rainbow Flash with Black Opal Accent

This pendant started as a vision I had while holding this gorgeous carved fox labradorite in my hands. The stone spoke to me with its incredible spectrum of colors creating a flash of rainbow – honestly, photos don't capture how it comes alive when you move it.

My Artisanal Process

I wrapped this beauty in sterling silver wire using techniques I've been perfecting for years. Each bend and weave is done by hand – no shortcuts. The little black opal tucked in there wasn't part of my original plan, but when I held it up against the fox, the match was too perfect to ignore.

After completing the wirework, I apply a special patina using a liver of sulfur solution that transforms the bright silver into a rich, dark gunmetal finish. I carefully dip it in a warmed bath, then neutralize the chemical reaction with baking soda. The pendant then spends about 20 minutes tumbling with steel shot to polish the metal and remove excess tarnish, highlighting the intricate wirework while maintaining that distinguished antiqued appearance.

This darkened finish gives the pendant a vintage, almost medieval aesthetic that perfectly balances the vibrant stone's brilliance. The result is a piece with substantial presence and the power to capture the eyes of many onlookers—ideal for someone who appreciates boldness, sophistication and artisanal craftsmanship.

This pendant has some weight to it – not heavy enough to be uncomfortable, but substantial enough that you know you're wearing something real. The black box chain is sturdy and balances the piece nicely.
