Handmade Wire Wrapped Ring in Copper - Blue Labradorite, Size 6

My Artisanal Process

This handmade copper wire wrapped ring features a beautiful round blue labradorite cabochon that I've carefully set using techniques I've been perfecting for years. Each bend and weave is done by hand – no shortcuts. The stone measures approximately 14mm in diameter with a smooth, polished dome that catches the light beautifully.

After completing the wirework, I apply a patina using a liver of sulfur solution that transforms the bright copper into a rich, dark gunmetal finish. I carefully dip it in a warmed sulphuric bath, then neutralize the chemical reaction with baking soda. The ring then spends about 20 minutes tumbling with steel shot to polish the metal and remove excess tarnish, creating depth and highlights.

Craftsmanship Details

I create each ring completely by hand using two main techniques:

1. The band is crafted using a basket weave pattern for both decoration and durability. This technique distributes pressure evenly around your finger.

2. The stone is held with a copper coil and a polished square wire creating a clean, structured frame around the stone,adding dimension and a refined finish to the piece.
