Handmade Wire Wrapped Ring in Copper - Malachite

My Artisanal Process

This handmade copper wire wrapped ring features a beautiful round Malachite cabochon that I've carefully set using techniques I've been perfecting for years. Each bend and weave is done by hand, no shortcuts.

After completing the wirework, I apply a patina using a liver of sulfur solution that transforms the bright copper into a rich, dark gunmetal finish. I carefully dip it in a warmed sulphuric bath, then neutralize the chemical reaction with baking soda. Depending on the softness of gemstone, it’s either polished solely by hand and dremel, or tumbles with steel shot to polish the metal and remove excess tarnish, creating depth and highlights.

Caring for Your Jewelry

With wear, your jewelry will develop its own unique character; the dark patina will gradually lighten in high contact areas, revealing hints of the copper's natural warmth beneath. To preserve your ring's appearance:

• Store in a jewelry box or tightly closed container when not wearing

• Remove before washing hands, showering, swimming, or sleeping

• Keep dry to prevent unwanted green patina that can develop when copper meets moisture

• Handle with care to maintain the precise wirework and stone setting

Note: Since each ring is handcrafted, the size may vary slightly as each size is only 1mm in difference. However, I do everything I can to make these true to size.
